Eyo 'Adamu Orisa' Procession Tee
Approximate USD price. Charged at checkout as ₦100,000.
The masquerades of Lagos Island, in procession. Eyo, also known as the Adamu Orisa Play, is the masquerade festival of Lagos Island and one of the city's most treasured traditions. When the Eyo come out, Lagos Island turns white. Masqueraders in flowing white robes and wide-brimmed hats walk the streets carrying their staffs, the opambata. Our design shows that moment. A procession of Eyo masqueraders in white, their hats in different colours, passes in front of Iga Idunganran, the palace of the Oba of Lagos, beneath a glowing copper sun. EYO is set boldly above, with ADAMU ORISA · EKO beneath. We've screen-printed it on a premium heavyweight cotton crew-neck. Royal blue (shown) sets off the white robes beautifully, and bold red and sunshine yellow are also available. Wear it with respect and pride: with white trousers for a crisp look, or with denim every day. A tribute to living Lagos heritage.
